The following is a list of books I read in January.

Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky

Another collection of talks given by Noam Chomsky on a wide variety of political topics.

The Social Contract – Jean-Jacques Rousseau

It’s been on my to read list for a long time. Interesting in that it lays out the relationship between the people and the government.

Across That Bridge: A Vision for Change and the Future of America – John Lewis

One part memoir, one part thoughts on advocacy. John Lewis was one of the U.S. great leaders.

Profiles in Courage – John F. Kennedy

I read this about a decade ago and was very impressed. Re-reading now, it still maintains a lot of its strength. Sad too because, there seems to be a lack of courage in many facets of our lives.

Plato: Five Dialogues: Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, Meno, Phaedo – Plato

A series of dialogues covering the time before and throughout the trial of Socrates. Oddly I found the Symposium a bit better to read.
